I have… a lot of feelings about “it” pronouns a) in general, b) for the Archivist in specific.
Really honestly down for almost anything in the vicinity otherwise. G-rated character study? Amazing, you are a gift, I am delighted. Violent noncon where the person(/monster, probably) doing it out loud intends it to be an insult? Great, fantastic, here for it. Soft bizarre nonhuman relationship? Incredible, yes, I love it. Someone intended to be off-putting and provokes not-gender euphoria instead by accident? Hilarious, beautiful, I thrive. I would just… really like to see more of this sort of thing.
Gendered caveat: whether or not it’s consensual, I don’t want Jon to be bothered by it; if he’s trans it’s not (but maybe surprise-not?) a dysphoria trigger, etc. (As you can maybe tell from here, “mixed he/it if that were a way to have a male gender?” is about where I ended up with it personally.) I’m also kind of ehhh on discussing gender the way we would as humans irl; it feels like it defeats the point a bit when the thing that gets me is the inhuman opting-out of it? But if where your heart leads you does involve talking about the language/identity part explicitly, go for it.
Prompt: Jon/any m or gen, it/its pronouns
