AU as of Season 3: After the Unknowing, Jon chooses death instead of embracing the Beholding. Fortunately, Jonah has a back-up plan in the form of Martin, so he's not entirely back to square one; he somehow coerces Martin into taking the job (perhaps claiming it's the only way to free Basira and Melanie?)

The catch is, Jon is still bound to the archives as a ghost, and the deeper Martin falls into the Eye, he more they can interact and communicate. But is a ghost enough of an anchor to keep Martin from going full monster?
