as jon falls deeper and deeper into becoming an avatar of beholding, he realizes an unfortunate side effect: he can't get himself off without someone else watching. he can try, but he'll never come, and the only thing he's ever able to think about is someone watching him. how vulnerable and exposed and ashamed he'd feel while someone's eyes roved over him. and how much it'd turn him on.
