2. The fill should begin with "Fill:". Otherwise there should be no change to the title.

Prompt: Jon/Any, 1001 Nights

I honestly have so many ways I can take this weird thought that I thought it best to release it into the wild. I will not be able to write them all out myself.

Scheherazade used stories to weave a trap for a sultan who planned to bed her and then kill her in the morning. Telling tales so exciting and long that the sun came up before she was done, and he would spare her one more day in order to hear the end the next night. The next night she would finish it and immediately start on another even more exciting story. For 1,001 nights she told stories until she ran out. On the last night she admitted she had nothing more to tell, but the sultan had fallen in love with her by then and spared her life to be his queen.

It occurs to me that this would be a perfect way to entrap an Archivist too. Especially if the one telling the stories could resist compulsion, or if the Archivist was reluctant/unable to demand answers. Whether it's just to keep him busy, a distraction, or something kinky I think I will leave up to you. Just let there be a hunger for these stories there.

Oh, this is so cool. That last sentence just got me.

I’d love to hear more of your various ideas for how to play it if that’s something you’re willing to share!

Hm, well one thought was a fairytale fusion with Beauty and the Beast (or maybe the Cretian Minotaur) where The Archivist is an otherworldy being that will bring down chaos if not fed a different person each night. It wants stories and no one ever comes back so of course it must eat them too. Martin figures he's got enough to last a while, and the reward for sacrifice is enough to care for his mother. But the tired looking man who looks at him when he enters is not the horrific creature he's grown up hearing about. Even if the way he demands a story is very rude.

Another was Elias fully knowing how compelling hearing the complete story is to the Archivist. How being interrupted can be irritating but the longer it goes the more it starts to hurt. Like an actual hunger gnawing at him from the inside. Elias fully utilizing this to dangle the end of a statement as a reward/punishment to make Jon do what he wants. From getting into contact with other avatars to getting on his knees under the desk.

So, yeah, that's the two extremes for this idea I have right now. And there's just different shades of it all between.

Did you have a ship/Scheherazade in mind for this?

Not particularly. I'm fine leaving it open for whatever anyone might feel.
